As legend has it, was a Frenchmen circa 1850 on his daily walk preparing a pot of coffee on an open fire, who first brewed his coffee this way. He bought a piece of metal screen from a passing-by Italian merchant, fit it over a boiling pot, used a stick to press the screen down with the coffee grounds.
Then patented by an Italian in 1929, the french press grew in popularity. It results in a more rich, robust flavor, with complete saturation of grounds and oils at more consistent brew temp. Paper-filtered methods remove oils and microgrounds, key elements in coffee quality and taste.
We ONLY french press our coffee. You’re welcome.
